When it comes to Lifestyle Photography, there are some things to remember or keep in mind when you book your next lifestyle session.
What to expect
Lifestyle Photography in the dictionary states it "is a kind of photography that mainly aims to capture portrait/people in situations, real-life events or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday. The primary goal is to tell stories about people's lives or to inspire people in different times."
This is exactly on point! This is what I want to capture. Life is not all about smile and pose. It's the good and the bad. Children should be left exploring, feeling and experiencing the now that is life. When you look at their photographs, you should be able to hear their laughter echo as you page through the Album. Mom, please don't feel sad if your two year old toddler refuses to take part, say with me - "This too shall pass" they tend to feel more conformable towards the end. And if not, remember...life happens!
Enjoy the now, this moment. Don't make this day feel like a "shoot", give this day a feeling rather than a title. Where space and time collide - the past is not of importance and the future is uncertain. And the pictures? That is just a bonus.
Art
"in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday" - this word "art". YES! Your imagery is a piece of art! I am an artist. The world is my canvas, and your Family my inspiration.
